This afternoon, in one of the more bizarre appearances of his presidency, Barack Obama gave a televised address to a room full of supporters on the "fiscal cliff." He broke no news, but mocked Congress, and hinted at future tax hikes. Observers worried that he may have deliberately scuttled a potential agreement.
Even though he has come off his last campaign for political office, President Obama acted like a candidate on the campaign trail--one prepared to use whatever political capital he had accumulated to take shots at the opposition in Congress at the very moment leaders from both sides are trying to work together.

Doesn’t matter..Obama is getting exactly what he wants..McConnell already caved..reached a deal on taxes..your taxes are going up and ZERO spending cuts..gee GOP thanks for sticking up for your beliefs :(
Barack the Kenyan wants EVERYBODY to pay higher taxes. He may be dumb but he’s not stupid. He knows forcing “the rich” to pay higher taxes amounts to a fart in a tornado. He needs more money from the “little people”. That’s where all the money is.
If so it’ll be the last donation I’ll ever give to the GOP.
The Republican Party is finished; dead as the Whigs. Only question is what/who will replace it?
Some kind of Tea Party organization, maybe with Palin as a major leader. We need some people who run for office that will call out the marxists in Washington. Romney and Rove did not have the guts for it.
This is perfect. Obama has been a broken record since his first campaign through today: "Raise taxes on high earners." Now that's done and we're still $1T in the hole for the year, $16T overall. So now what? We called your bluff and you've got nothing.
The emperor's disgusting nude body will be on display. Anything he whines about now the opposition can say: "We raised taxes like you said and it solved nothing."
I zeroed in on my GOP congressman today and said in no uncertain terms that he will be vigorously opposed if he votes for ANY increase in taxes now during a recession.
If this is the new GOP they won’t allow Palin in anyway..they wouldn’t even let her speak at the GOP Convention(Gee how did that work out for ya GOP) we need a new party..if this is the deal, higher taxes and NO Spending cuts..its the demise of the GOP..to go along with this is an absolute abomination..unless there is something we don’t know if this is the deal..its a JOKE
DJI up 120- the fix is in.
Wall Street calls it, based on insider information from Capitol Hill.
And tomorrow, the band plays on
The republicans caved years ago when they allowed this battle to be deferred. It was all part of their plan to NOT GET BLAMED. What is more amazing than Obama’s reelection is that a majority of republicans were re elected.
They will stand up for their beliefs. "Enable Democrats" and "Destroy your base".
I think I donated once to someone in the 1980s.
And we all know they'll cave on the deficit limit. Remind me again why we have an opposition party?
Of course. Once again Harry Reid plays the used car salesman and Barry is the manager behind the big desk whose job it is to squeeze a little more out of Boehner, the hapless shopper.
Dems have something we will never have, and that is the media..the media to do their bidding..the media to cheer for them and regurgitate their talking points..the GOP will never have that..yes we have most of Fox News but we don’t have the rest of the media on our side..and because of this the GOP caves over and over and over again..we have no one in power with a damn backbone..too afraid of being called a “racist” by the left..put me in Washington I could give a rats ass what they call me, I would NEVER vote for this nonsense, EVER..especially after seeing that schmuck go on TV and trash the GOP..I would never negotiate with terrorists..because that is what the Dem party are..TERRORISTS
No, she quit.
he doesn’t want a deal. he gives the other side a deal impossible to agree to and runs down the clock golfing in hawaii.
After the inevitable inflation kicks a lot more people will be making $450,000 per year. I saw this same movie about 32 years ago.
