For those who would see recovery in current economic data, there are these facts to ponder.
The first is that most of the decline in the unemployment rate has been a result not of more people working, but of more people leaving the labor force.
In November, unemployment went down to 7.7 from 7.9 percent in October, the lowest unemployment rate since late 2008. But at the same time unemployment declined, so did labor force participation--which fell to 63.6 in November from 63.8 percent in October. Half a million Americans have left the labor market in recent months.
Long term economic growth--and even growth in the short run--depends on an expanding labor force. Since January 2009, the labor force participation rate has declined by almost two percentage points.
That's huge.

Only for a minute. I can’t listen to any of the lying dogs of the political class. The arrogant blowhard is the worst one of all.
That’s true and depressing at the same time.
I think I quit watching ‘the news’ on any channel over 20 years ago... 8^)
Somehow I don't think that day will ever come... maybe I'm wrong but I fear not.
There isn't one, and won't be one - I fear ever!
The common mindset has been, Get complete gratification today, pay for it tomorrow. Then, the cars depreciate, the TVs and toys break, the vacations and casino trips become faded memories, and the party comes to an end.
But paying for it all, well... that continues for the next 30 years. But its okay - - just borrow some more and do it again, and push an even bigger day of reckoning out another 10, 15, or 30 years. Just use the house for collateral again - - I mean, real estate values keep going up up UP, right? Sure they do...
Naturally, the banks (and the government that calls the shots for the banks) have worked hard to become accomodating enablers. At least, they were accomodating enablers until recently... Oops...
Of course, the government itself has operated the same way, but even more recklessly than the selfish, ignorant chattering class. The government has maxed out the credit card of not only today's taxpayers, but the credit cards of the taxpayers' children and grandchildren!
Gee, who saw this house of cards collapsing?
Who saw this depression coming?
The day of reckoning has come a little earlier than many expected. It is finally time to pay the piper.
It was inevitable.
No way is a Democrat ever going to stand up and deliver the bad news. Democrats are cowards just as surely as they are liars. So who will lead America out of this mess?
I have no freaking idea.
My apologies.
Those who agree with this Administration are economically corrupt.
IMHO, this Administration is economically criminal.
LLS
I agree. The human gimee pigs will always be obedient to those who gave them hand outs.
intentional.

better yet,
Then take two aspirin and call me in the morning!
It connects the dots, crosses the ts and dots the is. The only thing it does not touch on is Obama and his muslim roots and sympathies. Between the two, we have a casty cocktail of marxist-muslim whos singular goal is to take down America. Actually , its a double header. Take down America and you take down western man. In the meanwhile he has his proxy the MB lining up in rank and file to go whack Israel.
Whatever happens to Israel, happens to us and europe. Not necessarily in that order.
Sadly, no one will. We're headed into the toilet with the rest of the world, as the leftist's want.
We're on the brink of the 'tribulation' which has one bright side - the coming of Christ, and His total elimination of the dark side. All we can do is hang on - for the defeat of the evil that lurks ahead, but it's a rough ride to get there.
I don't see the possibility of any recovery - the o will make sure of that. The world is headed straight into 'one world government' - the pipe-dream of socialism.
I think they have warehouses full of the new one-world currency. And, from what I hear they also have plans to install that 'mark of the beast' - no money, just a number that allows 'the rich' to spend their 'money in the bank.'
Already bigger than the host, imho.
Thanks but I’ve already watched it and there were no real surprises in it for me. I have seen this train comin’ for a long, long time.
I wish we could actually SOLVE the problem instead of having our politicians inefficiently play games and trade favors.
