You must be very proud of him!
I am indeed proud of him. It takes a certain amount of character to get up at 3 on a cold, crappy morning, hike into the woods, and sit freezing in a tree or next to a pond for hours, or all day. Not to be able to stick a set of antlers on the wall (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but to feed his loved ones. That is a more primal activity than logging onto your online bank account and noting an autodeposit of a check he never even saw.
Where I’m going with this is that the original article was discussing men who had dropped out of the workforce. I just wish more of them could deal with this by returning to more traditional ways of supporting themselves and their families—farming, hunting, fishing, gardening, raising stock. Gosh, if they did that, maybe this country could actually return to normalcy, to secure homes and solid, intact families where children are well-supervised and respect their parents.
