Former Newsweek editor Evan Thomas made a bizarre statement on PBS's Inside Washington Friday.
"Unexplored story of the year: white men dropping out - dropping out of the workforce, dropping out of elections, just plain dropping out, getting social security, not doing anything, going hunting, fishing, just not in the game" (video follows with transcript and commentary, file photo):

Ain’t it a b!tch being you, working for some cheap rag and not enjoying life. But, I’ve paid my dues many times over, and so I’ve just sorta dropped out and enjoying the hell out of it. By the way, I do own guns, just so you don’t try to take it away or muscle in on it.
I wonder how many of those people are part-time, cash or barter only, independent contractors or consultants. Betcha there are lots of those older dudes and dudettes that have valuable skills that don’t want to be part of the NWO collective.
I see it happening across the economic, political, and social spectra, which I consider interrelated, anyway.
White guys, choosing not to commit or marry, not employed (or under-employed), not voting, etc.
Let's see how long this country can exist without it's traditional "worker bees" just dropping out of participation.
He just may have a point - this white man took early retirement almost twenty years ago - tired of seeing more and more money taken out of my paycheck to “pay my fair share” the more I made - tired of putting up with stupid restrictions imposed in the workplace - impossible to discipline anyone without creating a “hostile environment” - tired of watching well-qualified white males shoved aside to accommodate minority and sexual affirmative action - once I stopped paying into Social Security, Medicare, and pension funds and spending extra money on differential taxes, lunches and gas, I was making only about $400 less each month than when I was working, easily replaced with a one day a week part time job - I’m lovin’ it..........
Think: Affirmative action government “services” are far more efficient than the public sector. Why didn't I think of that? OMG, this is hugh.
No, if you cash a check or make a witdrawl of 10K or more from YOUR OWN checking account the FERAL government wants to be notified.
I ran into this in 2010 when I cashed a check for some overtime back pay in excess of 25K. Told the Teller I wanted cash and she said I had to fill the government form to report it. I asked if I put in my checking and then withdrew it would I have to fill it out she said, yes.
Not sure when it was put into place. Stinking government.
