Evan Thomas: 'White Men Dropping Out of Workforce' -'Going Hunting, Fishing'
Newsbusters ^ | December 29, 2012 | 10:40

Former Newsweek editor Evan Thomas made a bizarre statement on PBS's Inside Washington Friday.

"Unexplored story of the year: white men dropping out - dropping out of the workforce, dropping out of elections, just plain dropping out, getting social security, not doing anything, going hunting, fishing, just not in the game" (video follows with transcript and commentary, file photo):

They'll be paying most of the taxes and most of the alimony along with their student loans. Good luck to them.

Except for the election thing, is this guy watching me?

I call it going Galt with a little Clowerd and Pivin overwhelming the system thrown in.

If Pelosi and the Bolshies hadn’t destroyed the economy in ‘07 I wouldn’t have anything to do with them. As it is, they destroyed my livelihood, they can now pay for me. And, no matter how dependent I am on them, I will never vote for them.

Excellent Point! America's turned into Fnimal Farm!

The pigs are running things and the poor horse (Napoleon?) is working his heart out while everyone else rides in the cart til he has enough and up and dies on them.

lol. Been a long time since I seen that. Gonna have to look it up again.

Thanks. I wouldn’t want Yankees either and will fully understand that I am tolerated and on probation. I will put my share in the collection plate, tip my hat, and will disable my horn. It was a Blake Shelton song that made me realize I gotta get out of here.

Yah. I had to go on disability about 4 years ago cause of pneumonia scars on my lungs after 2 weeks in intensive care. This after 40 yrs as a professional computer consultant.

I ain't been letting the moss grow though. Been working those four years trying to figure out how to start an Internet business. Finally got a start at it. Earned $2k this year. Wanna really hammer it next year.

But of course, there's Uncle Sugar there with his hand out for that now.

They seem to think that all $$$ earned belongs to them except what they in the graciousness of their vile little hearts they ALLLOW us to keep.

All our money is money that they simply haven't gotten around to confiscating and either squandering or redistributing.

God I've learned to hate govt.

Now that the best story I’ve read on here in a long time! Way to go, Mom. I’ll bet you and your husband are really proud of him. :O)

I am indeed proud of him. It takes a certain amount of character to get up at 3 on a cold, crappy morning, hike into the woods, and sit freezing in a tree or next to a pond for hours, or all day. Not to be able to stick a set of antlers on the wall (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but to feed his loved ones. That is a more primal activity than logging onto your online bank account and noting an autodeposit of a check he never even saw.

Where I’m going with this is that the original article was discussing men who had dropped out of the workforce. I just wish more of them could deal with this by returning to more traditional ways of supporting themselves and their families—farming, hunting, fishing, gardening, raising stock. Gosh, if they did that, maybe this country could actually return to normalcy, to secure homes and solid, intact families where children are well-supervised and respect their parents.

Sounds good to me. Collapse the system./

Been doing this for years.

Make as little money as possible...No more. Make just enough to get by...Purchase as little as possible...Fix/repair your own stuff...F the investments which usually back fire in your face anyway....Live frugal lives...Don't play the game....

Stay away from the machine, which only wants to take, tax and seize what you have...

Except for the election part, pretty much describes me....and by Nov. 2014, I may drop out of our corrupt election system as well.

Our looter government officials and their moocher clientel should have thought about this old adage:

“Be careful what you wish for in this world, for if you wish hard enough you are sure to get it.”

When all the industrious white people go Galt how will the liberals have their beloved ‘Diversity’?
