An Illinois state lawmaker who was a frontrunner to replace former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. says he's ending his candidacy because he doesn't want the felony gun charges he faces to detract from the district's important issues.
Donne Trotter was arrested Dec. 5 when security screeners at O'Hare International Airport found an unloaded .25-caliber Beretta handgun in his bag.

In Chicago, killings and questions on the rise
Police statistics show that roughly 1 in 4 of this year's homicide victims were affiliated with the Gangster Disciples Chicago's largest street gang that has gradually splintered into about 300 factions.
Trotter=hypocrite; but, it’s oh so nice of him to sacrifice his candidacy and to want to solve the area’s economic problems and forego stuffing his pockets with largess.
You know this guy knew better. How stupid can you be.
.25acp is probably the most useless caliber out there, no wonder a democrat is dumb enough to own one.
I guess he’ll be offered the assistant secretary of state position now that he’s abotu to be a felon-
Oh yeah, gang activity is directly related, not to single parent households of half-sibling illegimates, but to *the economy*. Better grab guns and raise taxes (and spending). Cabrini Green ping. Thanks Libloather.
