WAYNE Swan has blamed the conservative Tea Party movement in the US for damaging the global economy and contributing to the "whack" to Australia's budget position that has ruined Labor's planned 2012-13 surplus.

I’m just busting a gut laughing at this. I bet the Oz internet censors are working big time over time keeping anything about “tea party” hushed up, wouldn’t want the natives to be getting any ideas about being defensive.
Let the bike gangs run amok shooting up everything.
Lets all pretend its just another Mad Max movie in rehearsal.
Another garden variety socialist wants to play. Too bad no one will be able to engage him.
Any party that spoils another country’s ‘Labor Party’ is a good thing.
Agreed! And the bonus is - this Labor Party is in Coalition (more like kahoots)with the Watermelon Party *Green on the outside, Red on the inside) With any luck they’ll be gone in 2013. Labor has fallen like dominoes in all the State elections.
Yep. Me too.
>>> Labor’s planned 2012-13 surplus.
Huh? Surplus comes from spending less than you take in. How’s this tea party’s fault?
The same “reasoning” of Affordable-ness in Affordable Healthcare Act?
Yes, yes, it’s clearly all the fault of the Tea Party. Businesses in Australia are failing because Tea Partyers are demanding responsible government spending. Same thing happened in Greece. Those awful TPers demanding governments not flush taxpayer money down rat holes were directly responsible for the Greeks spending themselves into a financial morass. It makes perfect sense to me. (snicker)
He is trying to do 2 things here 1) blame the right for his inability to provide a surplus when he said he would 2) Bring the name ‘Tea Party’ into disrepute as he is sh#t scared of a shift to the right via the Australian Tea Party.

Australia you are so totally gay
By James Delingpole
Last updated: December 19th, 2012
I mean “gay”, of course, in the offensive, playground, politically incorrect sense of the word. As in: “Your Dad’s car is totally gay.” Or: “That shark was so gay he didn’t even manage to take your whole leg off.” This is the kind of usage that would you have you arrested in Australia these days, such is the gag-making political correctness of the land they once called the Lucky Country but which now ought more properly to be named the Haringey of the Southern Hemisphere.
When I tell this to people who’ve never been to Oz they are usually surprised. Australia, they imagine, is a rugged, no-nonsense place where the men all look a bit like Crocodile Dundee (or, at least, the late Steve Irwin), and where their idea of a chat-up line to the Sheilas on Bondi beach is “Hey Sheila. Do you want a ****?” (to which they’ll add, if Sheila is reluctant: “Well would you mind just lying there while I have one?”)
But it’s just not true. Australia handed in its testicles to the progressives long ago.
Its state broadcaster ABC is so hysterically left-wing it makes the BBC look like Fox News, while its resident eco-fascists are so rampant they make our RSPCA look as red-meat as the Heythrop in full cry. As for its Press Council well, just check out its latest ruling regarding an article published in the Australian earlier this year by a visiting Pommie journalist who wrote a hard-hitting expose of Australia’s wind farm scam.
The Council has upheld three aspects of the complaints. First, it has concluded that even if the REC scheme has the weaknesses alleged in the article it cannot tenably be described as a kind of government-endorsed Ponzi scheme. The REC scheme does not have an essential characteristic of a Ponzi scheme, namely criminal fraudulence, and is not reasonably analogous to such a scheme.
Second, it has concluded that the claim that a law firm sought gagging orders has been publicly denied by the firm and, in the absence of any supporting evidence, constitutes a ...

Why would you plan for a surplus, anyway? Wouldn’t the plan, if gubmints actually ever deliberate that carefully, be to balance the budget?
You are right.
I don’t want my gubmint to run a surplus, that means the taxes/fees are too high.
