2nd amendment is necessary today to defend life of self, family, and fellow citizens.
If you want to defend against foreign army you would need to walk on our over run military base and recover more powerful weapons.

I have GPS. Lots of civilians have GPS. And night vision goggles, range finders, Barret .50 BMGs and more kinds of off road vehicles than you could name. Ever notice what the ‘rebels’ in Libya and Syria are driving and shooting? Fighting against modern mechanized military.
