In other words, you consented for that service to be added to your plan. Legally, that’s the same thing as signing an amendment to your contract, since the phone companies have to get recorded verbal consent to add services. If they don’t, you don’t legally have to pay for them.

One party consent is derived from the instance of communication that is being recorded. If you had a phone call or text communication with someone 2 or 3 weeks ago, in a one party consent state, you could have recorded that conversation, but it doesn’t give you any permission to continue to record conversations that person has that do not involve you.

I don’t care about family plans, you are the one who brought them up. I was commenting about the parents wiretapping their daughter’s phone and electronic communications illegally. I don’t think the two things are really very related at all, unless you think most parents are somehow using the family plan to commit wiretapping?
