The solution to this is simple. Eliminate all income taxes. Implement a national retail sales tax. Implement the Paul-Mac Penny Plan, and add a continuous process improvement component. Problem solved. Won't hold my breath.

Amen my friend. I am more of a flat tax guy, but I could be convinced otherwise. PMP Plan, I'll have to review, I can't remember which one that is. On Continuous Improvement, as someone who has been through downsizings and in organizations where Demming, Kaizen Events, Taguchi and Six Sigma where more than buzz words, I ask when was the last time the Dept of Interior had a Kaizen event to improve efficiency? My guess? Never.

Fedzilla needs to go through what every major aerospace and automotive corporation went through from the mid 80's on utilizing these programs to reinvent themselves if they truly wanted to survive and not become GM.

The process improvement component would reward federal employees for saving money. Say ten percent of what they save? Bet we would have an army saving federal money. The PMP Plan basically freezes spending at current levels (no more baseline budgeting). Then reduces actual spending one percent per year until the budget is balanced. Assuming average growth, the proponents claim a balanced budget in five years. At least as I recall. Throw in the elimination of capital gains and corporate taxes and I would bet we could balance the budget in less than four years. Of course the dims and RINOs can’t destroy the republic if we fix the problem. So this will neve happen. Happy New Year FReeper!
