“Palin needs to step up now. Give us a real alternative to focus on, and keep us motivated.
Where are you Sarah?”

I agree and I love Palin. But when virtually every media outlet portrays her as incompetent that’s like running a marathon into the full-power jet exhaust from a 747 engine. She would exhaust herself, her money and her support. Even my sister, 69, who is as conservative as they come “knows” how bad Palin is. (This because, like many people, she has CNN playing 24/7 in the background.) My sister thinks she can separate the news from the propaganda but she isn’t that clever and the constant propaganda wins.

The electorate divides roughly into 40% Left/leaning, 40% Right/leaning and 20% Center/leaning. But out of that grouping virtually all of the left are low information voters. I’d estimate that 10% of the right are low information voters and 11% of the center are low information voters. Add in the pervasive effects of the biased media propaganda machine with Hollywood movies and celebrities and Palin is toast. (If the election is close then look for lawsuits and cheating game which the right hasn’t played well.)

Ronald Reagan overcame these odds because he was a celebrity, he had unquestioned gravitas and the times were right. Romney was defeated because, although the time was right, he was Obama Lite. A critical portion of the right stayed home rather than vote for him.

Incidentally, it really annoyed me when Tadd Romney said his father really didn’t want to run.

I disagree, but that is part of the reason I want her to start earlier than later.

Palin does have some makeup to do. But her fundamentals are the strongest of anyone.

Get with it Palin. Your children are very nearly grown.

Step up.

Reagan had gravitas because he began his conservative quest in the 50s. He spent 25 years building up to the right moment in 1980. He did not have a 24 hour barrage against him as we have today. Speaking of gravitas, who even comes close to that today? Does anyone even know what that is? To me Clarence Thomas is about the only one because he has spent 20 to 25 years defending conservatism. Sarah may be the one, but it may take another 15 years before that can happen. General Swartzkopf died last night and he is probably the only person with true gravitas that anyone under 35 can remember.
