I spent maybe $75 total, but that's also because I've been paying for travel costs to help my sons get here for their sister's wedding this Saturday. That's it.
They know next year to not expect a thing from me, especially if my job at the local military base gets cut due to the impending fiscal cliff, and it just might, it just might. In 30-45 days, I could be among the unemployed.

I didnt spend a dime. In our family we just drew lots and everyone got a gift for the person who's name they drew. While the economy is down we just focused on more important aspects of the holiday.

bought some gifts, but mostly gave money.....
gifts are over rated...most people have everything they want or need, and have little room for anything else....
I'm tired of cluttered closets and every cupboard packed full of "contraptions" for cooking or baking....want a simpler life....
