Time for Congress to stand up to NRA

If Congress is going to make a meaningful attempt to reduce gun violence, it will have to stand up to the National Rifle Association. The NRA’s cynical and insensitive response to the Newtown, Conn., massacre is motivated more by self-preservation than public safety.

President Barack Obama has provided a reasonable framework for beginning to tackle the complex nature of gun violence. It will require the courage of both Republicans and Democrats to ignore the NRA and put meaningful reforms in place that honor the 26 children and adults killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School. …

The photo of the grossly obese-obese Code Pink woman was an old one someone put up on a thread on FR. I thought surely it had to be photoshopped at the time; but probably not. Code Pink does the bidding of the Obama administration IMO.

Yes, Medea Benjamin, co-foundress of Code Pink and a certified hard-core Moonbat, has some sort of sub-rosa relationship to Obama. In 2010, when Hamas put together the first Flotilla propaganda offensive over in the Gaza Strip, trying to break the Izzy blockade and establish an arms-shipment bridgehead into Gaza, Benjamin was in Egypt, where Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood were brainstorming the Flotialla op.

Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, his wife, were in Cairo at the same time, and some folks like me think that all three of them constituted a back-channel delegation from Obama to the Muslim Brotherhood. Hosni Mubarak's regime fell the very next year, surprise surprise.
