Eric Cantor plays loyal lieutenant to Boehner
Washington Post ^ | 12/18/12 | Rosalind S. Helderman,

In a breach of bedrock conservative principles, House Speaker John A. Boehner laid out a proposal Tuesday to allow tax rates to rise for Americans making more than $1 million a year.

And standing side by side with Boehner as he outlined what many Republicans consider an apostasy — but what Boehner argues is the only way to spare most people from a tax increase — was House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who has worked hard in recent months to play the loyal lieutenant.

Just a heads up everyone. If you check the posting history of “What’s Up” for the past few weeks, you will discover he has been working overtime to excuse the behavior of the GOP and to disrupt any discussion about conservatives abandoning the GOP.

Yep, he's a party hack who's been trying to deflect criticism of the GOP-E in general, and Boehner and other GOP-E losers in particular, for some time now.

And here's another party-first operative:

And replace him with...........? Here’s an interesting quesiton. Let Freepers fill in the blank.

Funny how their talking points are very similar and how they seem to tag team on Boehner/Congress threads.

A monster tax hike attempt on the rich.

Which would have been used to press Obama into more spending concessions.

If Boehner had demonstrated he could have unity in the House Obama would have had to offer more cuts. That would have balanced the hikes out in the overall economy (rich could look forward to less of a load on entitlements in exchange) in addition to protecting the vast majority of small businesses from something far worse.

There’s that word “pragmatic” again. Seems like squishy moderates like to throw that around quite a bit.

"Pragmatic" means practical.

With 10 days left you'd rather have "dreams"?

Last night I had one say that old people were the problem and we dont have a spending problem. And he wasn’t going to sit back and spend money on hip replacements when his kids future was at stake. Then called me an FDR Socialist.

We need a purge. Badly.

These people destroyed the GOP and if we do not rid ourselves of them, they will finish off conservatism. Which it seems, is their intent.

Fact: Conservatives do not play games with taxes. They oppose them.

LOL. Oh, yeah...I'm part of "the sinister team" invading certain threads. What a laugh. And I've been doing that since '98 I suppose.

It's not really hard to figure out. When a bunch of people are calling for a new leader (and that's fine by me if there's a better proposal for one) isn't the next question, "Who?"

Nothing mysterious about it.

After all this time bashing and hating Boehner, his detractors STILL can't rally around an alternative leader with a real plan.

For a few months anyway. Post histories do not like. But sunlight sucks.

They oppose them.

And opposing them means seeing them go up in January?

Some opposition.

No, the implication was that I'm part of some "team" or "party hack" (those were the words used) when I've been here since '98.

Tin foil-itis.

Just curious...

Does it hurt to twist reality so badly? I’d really like to know. I’m also really interested in the color of the sky in the world you inhabit. Ours is blue.

Yea...can’t imagine why anyone would think that based on your posts alone. That’s just crazy talk.

Not you. Your detractors. They are batshit crazy taking your words literally and all.

How do you define “is” Bill?

Does it hurt to twist reality so badly?

OK...you desire to throw ad hominems.

Fine. But you really should throw a fact in there to show what kind of reality you are standing on.

The truth is those House members who voted Nay last night because they're set on getting 100% of what they want have no EFFECTIVE PLAN which will keep taxes from going up.

Yet you say they are going to keep tax rates the same? Now, how is that going to happen? Reality and facts, please.

The man who ran around FR assuring Bhoner was not caving and now defends the caving wants “facts”

The Brrass is highly polished on this one.

No. Not keep them the same. Cut them.

You do it by going to Obama, refusing to authorixe one cent for ANYTHING. Shut it down via the constitutional power of congress RE spending.

When Obama disbands the Czats/DOE/TSA/Dept of Energy, Dept if interior, EPA and stops sending billions to terrorist countries along with fraudulent EBT bullshit, turn the spigot back on.

Thats how. Now you PROVE to us that the resulting multi trillion dollar spending cut does not mean the need for less taxes.

Is there ANY reason Congress cannot LEGALLY AND CONSTITUTIONALLY do that?

No ducks, no dodge, no whining about political realities and other BS excuses. Give me a constitutional reason or sit down and shut up.

“now he’s going to have to beg House GOP members to vote for the Obama/Reid/McConnell plan? “

NO, he’s going to have to beg the few House RINOs to vote against it to save the Party and the country.

Of course our Leadership may not realize that LOL!
