In a breach of bedrock conservative principles, House Speaker John A. Boehner laid out a proposal Tuesday to allow tax rates to rise for Americans making more than $1 million a year.

And standing side by side with Boehner as he outlined what many Republicans consider an apostasy — but what Boehner argues is the only way to spare most people from a tax increase — was House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who has worked hard in recent months to play the loyal lieutenant.

Cantor was a top collaborator in Boehner's conservative purge. Didn't work out well for him last night and now he's going to have to beg House GOP members to vote for the Obama/Reid/McConnell plan? Idiot.

Jimbo
That’s why these three stooges need to go.
Fire Bonehead, Cantor and McCarthy. All are stooges for the K-Street crowd.

Funny how we have all these calls to get rid of leadership here but no real suggestions to take their places.

Some were suggesting Gingrich until he came out yesterday for gay marriage LOL.

Bachmann and Ryan are two that come to mind... both a hell of a lot better than anyone that is there now.

So you think Bachmann and/or Ryan could get spending reduced? And how exactly would they get more support for their plan than Boehner?

And how would Gohmert’s plan have a better chance at making it through the legislative process?

Just a heads up everyone. If you check the posting history of “What’s Up” for the past few weeks, you will discover he has been working overtime to excuse the behavior of the GOP and to disrupt any discussion about conservatives abandoning the GOP.

Before you give him any creedence, read his history and then decide if he is someone you care to listen to.

No need for tinfoil. My views really are not radical. Really.

God forbid that I didn't join the group calling for Gingrich to become Speaker! (And now that he's announced he's in favor of gay marriage was I wrong?)

God forbid that I don't want my taxes to go up in January!

And God forbid that I'm asking who realistically could take Boehner's place and get legislation passed (with no realistic response I might add)! Sheesh.

After a great start in 2009 (when he stood up to Pelosi and her lockouts), Cantor has turned into quite the GOP-E toadie.

Then you have no issue with people seeing for themselves how you have done everything possible to help the GOP continue business as usual.

Good.

Of course I have no issue with people seeing how I'm in favor of anything that offers REAL SOLUTIONS.

Wishes and dreams are not going to cut it.

Yea...after going around with you a couple days last week and how you assured us Bhoner would not cave on taxes, what did he do?

A monster tax hike attempt on the rich. Class warfare. Just like the dems. Pit the rich against the regular earners.

That’s your idea of a solution.

Any random tea party member could do better. Pick one off the street.

I rest my case.

Price might be great if there was a pragmatic plan proposed which had a chance to pass into law but the closest thing I see to a tangible plan in the article is this:

He is hoping for the best, hoping taxes don’t go up with any fiscal-cliff deal

So Price is "hoping". And that's a plan for success?
