"The House of Representatives elects the speaker of the house on the first day of every new Congress. Each party nominates a candidate. There is usually some degree of consensus within each party's leadership as to who the favored candidate will be. Whoever receives a simple majority of the votes is elected."Could be interesting -- but I don't see too many Republicans voting for Pelosi as Speaker. If the choice is between Crybaby and Pelosi, even the conservatives will vote for him.

Boehner will not run for speaker after this debacle. He’s done. There will be someone else nominated and it won’t be Cantor.

Each party nominates a candidate How many of the HR Caucus members do you think really believes Boehner is the cat's meow after his stretch of mediocre performance?
Who else besides Cantor has shown interest in the position?
