With that said, Santorum is a clear Social Conservative and his record shows that he walks the walk, He also proved that his message resonated in the South and Midwest by winning the caucuses and primaries that he did, despite campaigning on a shoe-string budget. And he did take Palin's lead and attack Obama, unlike Romney. I have to respect him for that.
Concerning FR though, I was offended mightily by those sole-issue "fiscal Conservatives" who savagely attacked "St. Rick Sweatervest" and evangelical "Bible thumpers" for their faith and for daring to inject social Conservative issues into the campaign. How many times did we see the comment on Santorum threads that "we need a President, not a preacher" on this forum? It was a disgrace, and most of this came from the Newtsters.
As far as Newt Gingrich goes, I've watched him for years and he is a self-serving, wind-gauging charlatan who is only out for himself. I knew this and so did several others (who presented clear evidence), but we were all shouted down and threatened because apparently his record before 2010 "did not matter" or so I was told. That was as equally disgraceful as the attacks on the Faithful that went on here during the primaries.
So, Newt has finally exposed his true colors once again, and here we are.
Those links don't help you much. Sarah had Todd endorse Gingrich shortly after those two articles were published.
I doubt that you realize the dark side of Santorum's history, and the similarities that he shares with his man Mitt Romney, including being anti-Reagan, and leaving his pro-abortion position to run for office, and even supporting removing the pro-life plank from the party platform.
