You gun owners who registered your guns, will be first in line to be checked.
They just go through all the registered owners to find if he or she has had any kind of criminal charges filed against them ie: Domestic Assault, DUI’s, drug charges, police called to your house for family disputes etc.
For the owners of unregistered guns, they could easily pass a law that if you commit any of the same crimes above(and others)), the police will be given the power to automatically conduct a search of your home for weapons.
If they acquire this kind of power, it’s going to snowball into a nightmare, just check out what happened in Australia.
