Why? Semi-automatic guns weren't even used at Sandy Hook handguns were. So why the outcry against automatic weapons, they're not even relevant.
Unless of course they're going after handguns and automatic weapons are just the opening act of their tyrannical play.
But let's project into the future shall we, to an America where all guns are banned and no evil crazy people can get their hands on such weapons (wink wink). Then, Mr. & Ms. America you will have to huddle in your homes at night just praying no one wants to break in and hurt you because you are finally completely defenseless. Just like our children in the schools we will be helpless to defend our homes and loved ones once our weapons have been taken away. And pray the government will be good to you because there will be no way to stop them either.
Just for example, Chicago and DC have these drastically "tough" gun laws, yet gun related crime is rampant. When asked why they don't recognize this as a sign that legislation against gun ownership is a failure, they simply point their fingers at their neighbors and claim they only have a problem because the guns flow in from the outside. In other words, they believe the problem would go away if the state next to them would clamp down as tight as they are, and so on... It is VERY evident that they believe the end-all solution is a total ban on firearms. How else could it work if they claim the problem is their bordering neighbors who supply the guns?
Honestly, I don't think any of this is going to go anywhere. It's a lot of talk and it's making the price of 30rd mags skyrocket, but I serious doubt we will see any legislation. We've been down this road and most people are sick of the game.
