Maybe I'm jaded, but I'd hardly call Dynasty Warriors shockingly violent. And I'd be surprised if it was anyone's favorite game. Check out gameplay footage here - curious if others find it shocking.

The Japanese culture of gaming often focuses on samurai and ninjas. Games like Assassin’s Creed have also been cited as “reasons for violence,” but in this case, the violent acts are committed with swords. I doubt the kid got anything out of the games but some odd sense of satisfaction slicing through throngs of warriors.
