When Victoria Soto heard gunfire ricocheting off the normally quiet hallways of Sandy Hook Elementary School, she didnt run and hide. Instead, the 27-year-old teacher gathered her first-grade class into the closet and bravely placed herself between the young children and Adam Lanza, the heavily-armed shooter.
..she shoved her class into a tiny bathroom & proppped something against the door ... the bathroom was so small that students had to stand on the toilet...
..she stayed in there with them and kept them quiet, talking softly to them to allay their fears....
..and told them to pray with her if they wanted to pray....
I was really impressed with her.
All those teachers are heroes. I would have been scared myself.
It is a situation I hope never to encounter at school or in public. I weep for those who lost loved ones, but rejoice for the ones accepted into the arms of Christ.
I had not heard of that. The depth of fear those people must have felt...I shudder
We need to ARM these brave teachers...she should have had a GUN to whack this guy and save herself....
exactly. She would be alive to tell her story today
