I do think that gun control would have helped in the Connecticut situation: Mrs. Lanza should have controlled her guns better, kept them locked up away from her disturbed son. Ultimately, what might have helped was more son control.

I am more in favor of government control than gun control.

I don’t think any of us can imagine living with and loving, for 20 years, a damaged emotionless unfeeling child who may have NEVER shown any tendency to violence except against himself (cutting and burning)

He has been described as near genius and obviously a cunning meticulous planner, so that would make him hard to control as he made a secret murderous suicide plan

She obviously trusted her child enough to sleep behind an unlocked door in their home, and she paid the price by being his first victim
