Dick’s Sporting Goods Suspends Sales Of Semi-Automatic Rifles

NEWTOWN, Conn. (CNN) – Dick’s Sporting Goods, one of the largest sporting goods retailers in the world, says it has removed all guns from its store nearest to Newtown, Connecticut, and is suspending the sale of certain kinds of semi-automatic rifles from its chains nationwide.

The move was made out of respect for the victims and families of last week’s Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting “during this time of national mourning,” the store said in a statement Tuesday morning.

“We continue to extend our deepest sympathies to those affected by this terrible tragedy,” the statement said.

It was unclear how long the store will keep the suspension in place for the guns, known as ‘modern sporting rifles.’

How are they getting rid of them? If throwing away, I’d like to know where. If simply selling at their price to another gun dealer, they are simply still on the market. If having a fire sale, I’d like to add another two or three to my collection of AR’s! Anyway, I’ve spent a lot of money at Dick’s. No more!

Interesting that Dicks stops selling rifles when none were used at the school shooting. What an obvious political correct move. Of course hand guns are not a big seller in Conn. Probably too hard to qualify for one with all the paperwork.

Was the rifle really in the car? Did the shooter take three guns or four from his home? Facts are elusive things when our only source of information is a corrupt and incompetent media.

This reminds me of the “Shut up and sing” meme with entertainers.

What they are doing is ticking off over half of their potential clientele. Then the second thing to think about is “WHO” really does shop there. Is it yuppies who stay home or is it people who actively enjoy the great outdoors?

Only they know for sure, but if they keep this up then they are seriously looking going bankrupt in the fairly near future.

I buy all my stuff from two local shops. Can’t stand the corporate stores. Plus I don’t have any guns since I lost them all in the boating accident a few years ago.
