HBO producing Scorsese-directed Bill Clinton documentary By Daniel Strauss - 12/17/12 01:52 PM ET
HBO is producing a documentary about former President Bill Clinton by Oscar winning director Martin Scorsese.
The channel announced Monday that Clinton had given Scorsese full cooperation for the movie.
"I am pleased that legendary director Martin Scorsese and HBO have agreed to do this film," Clinton said in a statement. "I look forward to sharing my perspective on my years as president, and my work in the years since, with HBOs audience."
HBO officials said the documentary will give Clinton a new chance to reflect on his presidency.
"This documentary, under Martys gifted direction, creates a unique opportunity for the president to reflect on myriad issues that have consumed his attention and passion throughout both his presidency and post-presidency," HBO CEO Richard Plepler and programming president Michael Lombardo said in a statement.
Scorsese called Clinton a "towering figure" who "continues to shape the political dialogue both here and around the world" in a statement.
"Through intimate conversations, I hope to provide greater insight into this transcendent figure," Scorsese said.
A title and date for the movie's premiere has not been announced yet, according to The New York Times.

martin the anti American pos commie producer
I have never heard anyone say that. Did you see The Departed? I think you must be thinking of some other director.
Don’t leave out the Chinese kickback for the Loral Space deal.
I wonder how much Slick had to pay them to get them to agree to do it.
I haven't watched HBO in years. Probably sometime back in the 80s.

Hmmmm ..?? Looks like this is just an attempt to make Bubba look palatable to the public .. so Hillary can run for office.
GOOD LUCK!! You’ll need it.
Oh know....my words come back to haunt me. lol. I am not saying his is pro-American, but not calling him anti-American either. Perhaps he is just a producer period.

There was recently an excellent profile of George H. W. Bush on TV. I think it may have been shown on CNN.
Could be the start of a new genre: Docuporno.

“A brief example of Martin Scorsese’s politics can be found in this Reuters story from January 2003, quoting him on the Iraq war:
“One hopes that this kind of war can be done diplomatically, with intelligence rather than wiping out a lot of innocent civilians,” Scorsese told BBC radio. ...
“There are a lot of Americans who also feel that a lot of this (war talk) is economic,” he said in London where he attended the premier of “Gangs.” “Part of this has to do with the oil.”
Scorsese also appeared to suggest that the U.S. was heavy-handed in the way it approached other cultures.
“I think it really has to come down to respecting how other people live,” he said. “There’s got to be ways this can be worked out diplomatically, there simply has to be.”
(I would allow that we fell a little short in terms of respecting how Uday, Qusay and Saddam lived, and might have been a bit heavy handed with regard to their culture of mass rape, torture and murder.)
That'll take a lot of time in the film, I'm sure.
Plus, don't forget, his meeting Hitlery when they were dating the same girl. Could be a blockbuster.
hildebeast may be in prison by 2016.

Which reminds me——did Clinton ever make the cover of
CIGAR AFICIANADO magazine?
I think that would be the time I’ve start to find ways to
leave the country.
Mr. Scorsese, Click on my name “Slyfox.” You might find some good ideas to round out your presentation.
