It also tells me that we were screwed when Boehner agreed to the entire “Super Committee” like a lot of us had thought back then. We knew that the Super Committee would fail to negotiate and that the defense cuts would go into effect but something would come along to save the discretionary cuts. Just waiting for Boehner to capitulate on the discretionary cuts.
