Actually, I'd argue that felons should come off the list. If they did their time, restore all their rights.
If they are too dangerous to be around a gun, they might need to stay in jail.

Yes, sorry. I left off “unexpurgated.” Of course if someone has paid his debt to society, he should certainly have the right to defend himself restored.
