The gunman in the Newtown massacre had an "altercation" with four staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School the day before he killed 20 children, six adults and himself there, Connecticut and federal officials told NBC News Saturday.

Three of the four staff members were killed Friday in one of the worst school shootings in U.S. history. The fourth staff member was not at school that day and is being interviewed by federal and state investigators, NBC News’ Pete Williams said.

Two days before that, Adam Lanza, 20, went to a sporting goods store in Danbury, Conn., and tried to purchase a rifle, but was rebuffed because the state has a waiting period for gun sales, the officials said.

I blame the Mom in some of this; she had guns at home, taught him how to shoot, etc. Knowing he had mental disorder, was a Goth, etc.

Yes, that was a pretty bad call. I've been looking at the pictures of her and the father, and the photos of the boy, and two things come to mind. I'm almost afraid to bring them up (no, I AM afraid to bring them up, but here goes.)

1.) He looks nothing like them. Was he adopted?

2.) Was he gay? Sometimes they feel very bullied and it's possible a child who is both autistic and gay could feel "different" enough to really lose perspective.

When will any of these news sources get the story straight? It was bad enough yesterday, when it changed hour to hour

It seems the media writes their stories the way they want the stiuation to have happened, not what really happened.

UPDATED 3:21 p.m. ET: Newtown massacre gunman Adam Lanza forced his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School, where his youngest victims were shot at close range, law enforcement officials told NBC News.

The chilling details emerged as authorities prepared to release the names of the 20 children and six adults slaughtered Friday at the Connecticut school.

They use the term "updated" to mean "too many people know the real story so we had to change ours.

What about the news video of the police taking the Bush Master out of the trunk of the car - I saw it myself.
I wonder how the shooter used that gun then put it back in the trunk after he killed himself ?

Not to mention the other teachers in the school said they heard “pops” - sounds more like the handguns making the “pops” not the Bush Master.

I can, and will because his actions are never in line with anything this nation was based on.
Name one thing he has done that was honest or in line with what the Founders intended.

The Chief ME performed 7 of the autopsies himself by 1PM Saturday, followed by the gunman and mother on Sunday morning. The remaining 19 autospies were divided among/completed by three other CT MEs by 1PM Saturday.

Reports were/are erroneous/incomplete. No way the shooter could have fired off the amount of ammo that he actually did in that little time with pistols unless they were 'modified.' TMK, actual officials have not specified the exact type of weapon(s) used, only that it was a "long gun." The media is reporting it's the bush, one of which they reported was found in shooter's vehicle. Media's been wrong more than right, so it's best wait for & work off actual information from Lt. Vance and his colleagues.

Stated in press conferences, corrected by local news and even some national as well. Media reporting, on the whole, has been abysmal. I haven’t seen this kind of jump the gun muck up from them since November 1999.

I watched CNN this afternoon. They showed the Lanza home and interviewed a guy who used to babysit for Ryan and Adam Lanza. This “babysitter” was 15 years old when Adam was 10. He said that Nancy Lanza told him that Ryan was okay...that he didn’t have to be watched much, but to never ever take his eyes off Adam.

He said that when he told Adam that it was time to go to bed, he would throw a serious tantrum, which he thought was unusual for a 10 year old.

He had 2 semi automatic pistols, probably with 15 round clips, maybe 10 round clips and he could have had many of those clips with him.
Plus the teachers said they heard “pops”, the .223’s I have used are much louder “bangs”.

Maybe they will show this again, wish I had seen that. Thanks for the information. Such a horrible situation for the mother and family, I sure don't know the answers to this.

I have problems with all the drugs they give these kids, and don't know if asylums are the answer either, as they were abused by some who just wanted to be rid of someone.

I don't know, sometimes I think, get the belt out and use it more.

Your seeing this as I am. I suspect he had a quarrel with his mother, couldn't get his way or she is demanding he get out and get a job, whatever.
