Here is a question I want to see asked on a national talk show —

Can anybody name the last time a POLICE OFFICER has STOPPED a mass murder?

It seems every time there is a mass murder, it stops when they guy kills himself.

At Virginia Tech, the police stayed outside while he murdered people.

In Columbine, they also stayed outside.

In other cases like this one, by the time the police arrived, the guy had killed himself.

At Aurora, the police were nowhere to be found.

So, when is the last time someone was in the middle of committing a mass murder, and was then stopped by police?

I remember in 1966, the police stopped the “Texas Tower Shooter” Charles Whitman. So I think it does occasionally happen, or at least it did in the old days.

The Trolley mall shooting.

The shooter was killed by the swat team.

But not before he was forced to stop by an off duty police officer shooting at him with a 1911.
