School shootings are part of the Obama program, and will likely increase exponentially.

Here`s a letter I sent to Gov. of NY:
Dear Governor Cuomo: if you really want to do something about school safety, then contact Oakland School district, California- They had gun gang trouble in their classrooms/campuses early 1980`s and they stopped it fast. They have metal detectors, armed police and armed personnel including armed teachers on a their school campuses. It works- Wise up and call them. It`s called CRIME PREVENTION- have you ever heard of it? Have you ever hear of DEFENSE? It`s on every Sunday with the JETs.It works- Defend the schools with arms- Most big corporations and big movie stars and even the Pope have armed guards, why not the schools- The Israeli`s have armed parents at all their schools- Why not here/ Wise up—There are millions of dollars in Homeland Security grants- go get it-Oakland schools have been pretty safe for 30 year in spite of having the worst gang violence in the country -well DUHHHHH~~s. Put some of that Homeland Security money into securing homeland Schools in NY and then you will be using your brain not your emotion. Be practical. Defend the schools with guards with guns and no one with guns will ever dare to tread on you there-guaranteed. Please do this instead of treading on our Constitutional rights. Use your brain. If Oakland did it, what in tarnation is stopping NY from implementing a solution that actually works for 30 years- Gimme a break- any NY or Oakland 6th grader could figure this one out -Where`s your common sense- give Oakland schools a call and talk to them- I double-dare you- maybe you will be EDUCATED! Awaiting the results of your Oakland ohone call-Best regards,

“We’re going to have to have some people who are armed in our schools,” Ingebrigtsen said. “As sad as that can be, and I think (former Gov.) Jesse Ventura brought it up, maybe some of these teachers are going to have to have guns.”

Maybe they should make gun ownership and four or more years of shooting experience a condition of employment. Teachers should be required to take Military Science (ROTC) for two years in college, along with one credit per semester for four years in shooting. Those courses would be much more valuable than most of the liberal tripe that teachers are required to take.

As looney as Jesse Ventura is wont to be, he has moments of occasional brilliance, QED.

Good to see someone (besides the Israelis) is thinking clearly about guns in schools.

Sounds like a good idea. The reason I like concealed carry over open carry is that you never know who’s carrying.

Bravo! Yes, it is a sad state of affairs that people are sick enough and evil enough to want to harm children. Arming teachers and/or staff is probably the most cost-effective way to provide protection. It is simply impractical to turn our schools into sealed encampments, and counter-productive to their education mission.

Having people on-site trained and equipped to deal with the evil and insane is probably the best way to go. It bears researching, and there won't be a one-size-fits-all solution. But the discussion of options for keeping kids safe should include armed active solutions not just passive defenseless ones.

I grew up in Michigan gun country and there has never been a shooting at my old alma mater (Or any of the other half dozen school districts in this county)

The school recently spent roughly $50,000 for a fancy security system to automatically lock doors at a certain time each day so that only those with id can get inside. If they had put a tenth of that into buying three shotguns and training people how to use them, and publicized it, I sincerely doubt this maniac would have picked that school to go out with a bang at.

Or maybe it’s just a coincidence that these suicidal murderers happen to go to gun free zones rather than take on their local police station.

I will be contacting his office on Monday to see what I could do to help.

He’s from a different District, but my Reps are from one of the most Conservative Districts in MN...
