First rule of travel to mexico: Don't.

Second rule: Don't try to take any kind of a firearm into mexico.

Third rule: don't take advice about mexican law enforcement from an American LEO or anyone else not inolved with mexican graft/law enforcement

Exception: If you're running drugs from mexico, or in some manner bringing dollars into mexico - nevermind.
