“I can still access it. Why would so many of his friends unfriend him, then?”
Oh, I don’t know. Probably because of people like this guy:
(see post #685 on THIS thread)
Fortunately, I screen-grabbed his Friends List right after they announced his name on the news. If anyone wants it to post (I dont use any hosting sites.), let me know.
So a FReeper has grabbed the list of the wrong guy’s friends and wants to post it on any public website just to spread around the misery a little more.
Even if it were the RIGHT guy, what the h*ll purpose would that serve? I’ve got ‘friends’ on FB that I haven’t had a real conversation with in more than a decade. Heck, more than two decades if you include all of my classmates.
If one of them did something evil, what purpose would it serve to hang me out to dry with them? I barely even know them.
One of the kids I hung out with in high school is in prison for sending fake anthrax to federal officials. In high school, he seemed like a very smart and laid-back kid, the last person you'd expect to do something completely nutty.
Beyond that, there are a lot of facebook groups that collect around a common interest, and the "friends" are complete strangers to one another.
The FreeRepublic facebook page is a great example of that. I joined it, and I've never met or spoken to a single other person who's listed among the FB "friends" of FreeRepublic.
Just imagine, if someone who happened to be a member of FR went off the rails and committed some heinous crime. Then some idiot copied the "friends" list on FR's facebook page and posted/published it all across the WWW.
