Personally I am about ready to turn the entire government over to women. At least when the eff it up it will end this myth about how much more virtuous than men they are.

These sunset provisions need to go and we almost got rid of them if it wasn’t for Jorge McCain (D-Arizona) and one of the Ohio Senators ! Two ****ing votes that kept the Bush Tax cuts from becoming permanent !

If women were in charge, thered be a fiscal cliff deal by now No doubt - one where the taxes on the productive would go through the roof and there wouldn't be any spending cuts. Not that we'll ever see any spending cuts anyway. I've seen this game played repeatedly over a number of decades.
It always goes as follows: After initial posturing Republicans agree to tax increases now for the promise of spending cuts in the future. Those spending cuts are NEVER implemented, but the tax increase are implemented immediately or even retroactively. In fact the so-called spending cuts are not even cuts in spending, but simply cuts in the automatic increases that the federal government voted itself back in the '60s

Not likely. Women will always blame men. If they eff it up, they'll blame men for breaking it beyond repair.

These sunset provisions need to go That or sunset new agencies and spending. For example: Have TSA come up every 5 years to justify their existence.
But then, you would have to eliminate cronyism and corrupt politicians for that to work, so never mind.

Women have had the vote since 1922. If having women involved made a bit of difference, we’d have seen it by now. I like having the vote myself, but I think what it does is spread the blame and/or the credit. I think that is important for citizenship, that all adult citizens make some effort to face facts (or distortions) and vote. It does not result in more virtue merely because females are about half of the voters.

If women were in charge, our nation would be in a far worse situation than we are currently. Considering the utter stupidity women displayed in the recent elections, the U.S. would be in a full-blown depression with 35% unemployment and 100% yearly inflation if not in a total meltdown.

ROFL!!!!! What, with leaders like McCaskill and Pelosi? I can just see THAT deal now!!
PELOSI: “We have a deal everybody!!”
Media: “What is the deal?”
PELOSI: “You know, I’m really not sure, but it make us avoid the Fiscal Cliff! YAY!”
Media: “What is the deal?”
PELOSI “We have to pass it to see!”
Media: “Oh, okay! YAY PELOSI! YAY DEMOCRATS!”
BTW, we don’t need a deal! That “deal” should have been produced when the “Super Committee” was supposed to be doing something. And even then, the same REAL premise existed. We need to STOP SPENDING and eliminate Baseline Budgeting! Wonder why the Republican Speaker isn’t talking about either of those two things!
Just back to the days of the “Era of Good Feelings” and One-Party Rule. WOO HOO! Good times.

Should women be legislators in the first place?
I love women(there are 8 in my house) but I ask the question in all seriousness.

I think option C is S. 3412, a bill passed by the Senate in July. The short description is that this bill extends the middle class tax relief for one year and allows tax cuts for the rich to expire. More precisely, here is what the bill does (Joint Tax table is here):
Does anyone know if Option C also gives Obama the power to raise the debt ceiling? If not, and the House passes S. 3412 with only democrat votes, can the Senate then insert an Amendment to the bill to do that?
