Embrace the Suck

Let's go over the cliff Gangnam Style.

It used to be an accepted truth that America would never negotiate with terrorists -- at least before Obama made 'leading from behind' so popular -- or the ascendency of his current variation, 'leading from nowhere.'

Well... in fiscal negotiations Barack Obama is a terrorist. Think about it; he has nothing to lose, because he cares only about winning -- the nation be damned. In fact, the economic depredations inherent in cliff diving provide him with an advantage.

By letting lower tax rates on the middle class expire, potentially he has access to so much more money to transform America, along with the ability to blame the Republicans for the entire debacle -- should he choose that route.

Or... he could wait, and then propose legislation restoring the rates for the middle class only, while including an increase in executive power -- the ability to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling without the approval of Congress.

Control of the debt ceiling is one of the few tools the House can wield, but it only becomes effective as a weapon in the beginning months of the year, when the ceiling is reached, whereas the cliff is New Year's Day.

...And his majesty is salivating over the prospect of campaigning -- yes, to him, this is still a campaign -- on tax cuts for the middle class held up by greedy Republicans trying to reward their wealthy buddies.

As for the sequester, the second part of the fiscal cliff, half of the spending cuts would be borne by defense, which ties in nicely with his notion of America as more humble -- one nation among many -- in a world of equals, with most more equal than us.

Correction leading with his behind.

Look at Detroit and California. They are success stories in one way: Democrats have had uncontested power for a loooong time. That is Obama’s goal for America.

Same as dealing with children they have to learn there are ramifications to poor behavior even if it hurts the parents, this will hurt us the citizens (parents) but it needs to happen.

It's simple math.

Dreams From My Father + Bill Ayers + Saul Alinksy + Rev Wright + George Soros = Fundamental Transformation of America.

The problem is the worse things get, the more dependent, the more democrat, the population becomes. At least this is the case in California.

The “new normal”, just like they are conditioning the people to be happy with gas being just about at $4.00.

I think you’re right. Obama likely wants a recession for the reasons you cite. What we need to decide is how to act in the best interests of the country when we’re backed into the corner; cutting Obama off at the knees.

Raising taxes is wrong answer. Financial cliff is wrong answer. Debt ceiling plays into this.

That is a critical issue.

What is happening is, every time a factory in America is exported, all the employees in the USA lose their jobs.

All of them.

Some of those employees used to be Republicans. Once they are all laid off, they become all democrats.

America must stop outsourcing. The fight is becoming America vs our foreign competitors, and our foreign competitors are becoming more of a threat to America’s future than any Americans.

Hire American.

Buy American.

Fix the problem.

I'm acquainted with the basic philosophies of Hamilton & Madison, but solid proof is in FDR's four terms.

Brainstems ranting on about conservative 'purists' who 'stayed home' costing Romney the election are full of crap.

Actually it was the loss of the Reagan Democrats you describe that brought us Obama's first and second terms.
