“bunker buster”. . .what a bunch of ill-informed, dumb media-driven nonsense.

Strapping a JDAM kit to a Mk-84 makes it more accurate, not any more capable of penetrating.

The nose fuze has a delay you can dial in, but the munitions described are in NO WAY a “bunker buster” in the way the article implies.

To be a true “bunker buster” requires a hardened case to ensure penetration before detonation. and fuzing to ensure timely detonation at the right depth.

Sheesh.

Reporters, nothing but a bunch of Pulitzer-seeker, blow-dried-tele-prompter-reading-attention-hogs that are living examples of two ears being held apart by a vacuum.

Actually, the article is talking about Bunker Busters (BLU-109). It was Doogle who claimed that the BLU-109 is the same as the MK-84.

It's not. (oops)

BLU-109 most definitely is a hardened Bunker Buster.

Reporters always take short cuts in order to save print and time. The targets generate the munitions which generate the type of nomenclature, or type of bomb used. GP bombs (dumb) get smart only after the gadgets get attached....add ons.
The bunker busting type are different right from the start.
The reporter, as you stated, is LOST.
