You’re right, of course. Northern liberals act as if no one north of the Mason-Dixon was ever racist.

I am a Texan, born and raised. When I moved to New York City in the late 60’s my job was to interview and hire typists, clerks, etc.—females only, of course, since I am female. The owner of the company was a native New Yorker and a graduate of Yale. After hiring first-ever black females for the company as typists, the Pres. called me into his office and said “don’t you think we have enough?” I had no idea what he meant and he finally told me I had hired enough blacks and not to hire any more even if they were the most qualified. I wasn’t the racist.
Found out that I wasn’t at all racist, but he was.
