Excellent article. Thanks for posting!
When did the sports media’s little ankle biters get reputed to have more than cliches between their mushy ears?
Why would anyone elevate Bob Costas comments to a level of comparison with the statements of Jesus? Since, we are “no longer a Christian Nation”, should his stupid remarks be shown how they are in direct conflict with Mohammed as well?
Somebody, should be showing his sponsors the error of their ways.
Yeah. Too many Christians - and others - miss the fact that Jesus was no Ghandi. He also was no PETA sympathizer. Remember what he did to that herd of swine he infested with demons?
On facebook from SomeEEcards (I think)...I saw the following quote: “Maybe Bob Costas will call for a ban on cars after the tragic events involving a Dallas Cowboys player driving drunk and killing a teammate”..............
The libtard view of guns and self-defense:
The Bible passage never says Jesus whipped the backs of the marketers, just that he drove out the sheep and cattle and cleared the temple. Nevertheless there are plenty of examples in the bible where a weapon was used for self defense, one example is David and Goliath.
Apart from that “Cowboy” incidents, how many people daily are killed by cars, hmmm???
I am not aware of the whip mentioned - my versions says he overturned tabels, etc. However, far too many use the “turn the other cheek” and “give him your cloak too” as “proof” that He didn’t want us to defend ourselves. Not reacting with force to torts is a bit different than allowing yourself to be killed just to prove that you’re not a violent sort - I don’t see anything in the Bible that says it’s not OK to duck or to use deadly force to defend yourself.
and there it is...
the only real part a gun played in this mess was him killing HIMSELF since he just as easily could have beaten her to death but not himself
Matthew 12:29
Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
And yes he did whip the money changers
Jesus Cleanses the Temple
John 2:13-16
13 The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. 15 And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16 And he told those who sold the pigeons, Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.
I’m rephrasing one sentence, which is a keeper!!!
Guns do not kill people. Planned Parenthood kills people.
Jeffrey Snyder in “A Nation of Cowards” covered the moral responsibility of self protection abundantly well.
John 2:15
And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. ESV (English Stanadrd Version). Also NIV.
“Scourge of cords” in NASB
We all must remember that the Lord was zealous for the house of His Father and this was not a case of personal protection. Still the Bible has other references that support personal protection.
Thanks - I’m sure I must have read it and like so much else, missed (or didn’t fully pick up on) some of the points. I guess that’s what’s so great about the Bible - each time you go over certain passages, much more comes to light. God Bless.

I have a hard time imagining anybody giving a sh*t about anything Bob Costas ever said.
