The implication is that Issa became wealthy through government service. As you now know Issa made his fortune in the private sector, long before heading to Congress.
Wouldn’t we all be better off with a Congress full of successful, wealthy, entrepreneurial businessmen. I’d love it if the majority of Congress were self-made millionaires/billionaires. They know how the economy really works, they’ve built something, created jobs and met payrolls. They know how regulation and high taxing hurts.
They didn’t ‘get theirs’ from the government. They earned it. They took risks that have been rewarded A problem we seem to have is failure to recognize the rewards of risk. If that’s not class envy, I don’t know what is. They could also have lost everything.
