Anyone else getting tired of this “raising revenue” talk? Our Royal Congress sits there in Washington and begins a budget by laying out EXPENDITURES first and then figure out ways to raise the revenue! And when they look at the numbers, instead of reducing the expenditures to match what they can expect to get from the revenue available, they start screaming for more revenue! And NEVER does revenue exceed expenditures to the point that money is sent back to us!
If I were Boehner, there is ONE negotiating point that I would offer up in a one-paragraph bill. Remove the cap on SS payroll tax and reduce the personal rate to 4% and the employer match to 4%.
