In the '60s, I'd sit at the console and do the breaks (no automation then) during Godfrey's show and spend most of the time flirting with the receptionist, or the copywriter, or the bookkeeper. I'd pay attention to AG only to see how close we were to a break and sometimes lit out running. But my ears did perk up when Ty Boyd (WBT) used to substitute when AG was off. That was another Carolina boy making good.
