They’re going to get some bacon but it will be Canadian bacon in the form of a new bridge because Canada needs it and Detroit is in the way.
Canada is paying for the bridge and will collect the tolls but there will be a lot of jobs created to build it and there will be needed freight infrastructure on this side of the river. Looks like we’re going to become a right to work state sooner rather than later and that will help Detroit whether they like it or not.
Think about it. What would Laredo be like without that major freight crossing? Detroit is second only to Laredo in cargo crossing the border. (Around 1.5 million trucks per year now)
