Special-ops vets demand Benghazi answers

With almost three months elapsed since the September terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, a group of special operations veterans is tired of the delay in answers from the Obama administration and is demanding action.

“We view the events in Libya as sort of a jigsaw puzzle that’s been dumped out of the box on to the table, and there’s a heck of a lot of pieces that need to be put together to reveal the big picture,” said retired U.S. Air Force Col. Dick Brauer, co-founder of Special Operations Speaks. “Unfortunately, this puzzle box had no picture on it so we’re trying to actually figure out what is the truth behind what really happened.”

Special Operations Speaks is insisting that Attorney General Eric Holder choose a special prosecutor to get to the heart of the story in Benghazi – and not just any special prosecutor. The veterans want a Republican, whom they argue would provide the best chance for a full and honest investigation.

“The only way we can do this is to put pressure on Congress, we feel, to get Eric Holder and the Justice Department to appoint an independent counsel – a Republican independent counsel – because I’m afraid Eric Holder might put the fox in the hen house so to speak, and we would never get the truth,” Col. Brauer told WND’s Greg Corombos. “But the truth has got to come out as to why we let these people die.”

So what are some of the “puzzle pieces” for which Brauer demands answers? Brauer said there’s still no explanation for why the repeated requests for more security in the weeks before the attack were denied. He wants to know........

Hell, I was just a Sargent and I know DOJ, the Congress nor the WH will ever do anything to provide truth to this issue. The only way to get those who know to divulge the truth will be to beat it out of them.

The big question and most heart-wrenching is why were they told to stand down?

Now that the Rice and Petraeus distraction is done with, people need to get back to the heart of this incident. Why were these people abandoned?

The story is; why did we let those people die? Why was the rescue operation that was ready to go not allowed to proceed?

Why were the former SEALs that were there given orders to not give aid to the mission under attack? (They eventually used better judgement and violated those orders and saved all but 2 others in the area.)

Who made it happen this way? Why?

Did they object to these Americans being left for dead?

Did the president actually sign *any* orders that night? Were orders drafted for him to sign? What were they?

It isn’t so much the why anymore. It’s the WHO?
The cia says they didn’t do it. Security contractors fall inder the UCMJ so it might have been panetta, but security is controlled by the state department, so I am saying it’s hillary.
Not only that, but it was a plan that the exSEALS screwed up royally by not listening. Every single American there would have died if they hadn’t disobeyed those orders.

They were told to stand down because it had been choreographed as a routine kidnapping/hostage-taking so The Won could exchange Amb. Stevens for the Blind Sheik.

I also wonder how and why the battle shifted from the mission to the annex a mile or so up the road. I think that is where Woods and Doherty were killed (but please correct me if I am wrong). There were two aspects to the battle, one at the mission and then an hour later at the annex. I think Stevens and Smith were killed at the mission. I have heard rumors from gun running to prisoners being held at the annex (or both). There was a concerted effort to attack the annex. Did the attackers get what they wanted, and what was that?
