It seems odd to me, that people hold Rove to account for “destroying the brand” (or whatever—you know what I mean), but give a pass to Akin for doing the same. Granted, one is not a politician, but still.

Granted, one is not a politician, but still. One was just a guy running for a Senate seat, the other is a major architect of republican politics who has been structuring and shaping the party in his anti-conservative image for years and doing irreparable damage to the party and costing us elections and political victories and continually moving the party left.
Part of the rino strategy is to use minor names to try and conceal the disaster at the top, Rove, Rinos, and Romney pulling off a national defeat when facing Carter's second term.
