Failed campaign: Mitt Romney's staff found that he lost an 'extraordinary' number of white, male votes during the election - traditionally key supporters of the Republican party
And in another blow, Romneys own campaign manager also admitted that his infamous 47 per cent comment was the epitome of low during the campaign - from which they never recovered.
California as he reflects upon what went wrong. Now Neil Newhouse, his campaign pollster, has begun to sift through the data to determine what the key factors were.
He said that he had to give credit to the Obama campaign for getting out the Latino and African- American vote, and praised the Presidents so-called ground game for being extremely effective. He said: We werent surprised by racial composition; we were surprised by the partisan composition...
The real hidden story here on our side, the number of white men who didnt vote in this election compared to four years ago was extraordinary... And these white men were replaced by white women. We were taking a group we won by 27 points and replacing them with a group we won by 12-14 points.
... In an interview with Talking Points Memo, Romneys campaign manager Matt Rhoades said the candidates 47 per cent comment at a behind closed doors fundraiser became a real problem.
He said that they put in place a five-point plan to rebuild Romneys image but he was unable to recover. Rhoades said that they tried to gin up our surrogate load by sending high-profile Romney supporters across the country to speak to the governors character'. Big speeches were lined up and Romney was asked to speak in front of a podium instead of walking around the stage - but in the end it all came to nothing.

I hope the Conservative Movement can capture the spirit of all these absent “white males” before they forget what it means to be a “man.”
“I dont think voter blocs disappeared.
I dont think white male votes disappeared.
I do think ballots disappeared.”
I agree.
Assault weapon ban, abortion and support for gays are TURN OFFS for straight white guys.....??????
SOOOOOO SHOCKING......!!!
True, but how many actually know about Øbama's gaffes? His gaffes are never reported in the MSM.
Democrat leaners thought Romney was a Conservative that would strip them of 'presents' - we knew him to be a liberal...in the end- @47% of the electorate could muster the strength to hold our noses and vote for him.
Yet again, this election was between a Dem and a Dem-lite. With that choice, the Dem wins every time.
voter fraud made it close to a tie....the reason Romney didn't win in a landslide is the fact that he was a liberal Republicrat....I voted for him, but I had to hold my nose. I do believe many decided to stay home, or write in a vote for Mickey Mouse.
All talk about campaign technique, nothing about policy. No wonder he lost.
We don't have a candidate problem or a President problem or a congress problem or a GOP problem.
We have an electorate problem.
The only cure will be for conservatives to point out what the result of collectivist policies will be and then say "We told you so" when they occur.
We need to re-teach the American people that collectivism, socialism, communism, statism, etc... lead to economic failure and a lower quality of life for everyone. Free markets, capitalism and liberty lead to prosperity and progress.
Who’ to blame?
Romney is to blame, and all those cowardly so called conservatives/Republicans that screamed and yelled “he’s they only guy who can win”.
Some of them have been reported - but people don’t care.
All they know is they hate rich people and evil republicans.
Biden’s gaffes are a daily joke.
But they don’t care about that either.
The real problem is that class warfare has paid off.
The envy and the hatred is being drummed up.
And while the entitlement crowd is getting worked up over CEO bonuses - they will fail to see the commie takeover until it’s too late.
Yea will the current crop of GOPers refuse to do that so we DO have a GOP problem.
Q - What would happen to them in 2 years if they talked like Allen West or Mia Love?
Q - Why does the GOP feel secure doing what they are doing?
A - We have an electorate problem.
Honestly,...Do you **really** believe that Mia Love lost with 78 votes given that Matheson’s district includes at least one large Indian reservation?
So, Romney could not get the Jim Robinsons of the voting populace to support him ... are we surprised?
And....Nothing about the Marxist generated election fraud that has tainted every national or close local election for decades.
I blame the young.
People under 30 apparently want to live out their lives in a Eurosocialist country that lets them lie in the hammock. They’re almost totally ambivalent on our traditional values.
No, I don't believe that she received less legitimate votes than her opponent.
If the people in her district or state felt that a valid election result was of the utmost importance then she would have won.
The fact that the election was able to be stolen proves that we have an electorate problem.
We need a “Like” button.
If you are a professional politician and all you care about is power and percs then you pander to that electorate and, again, we have a GOP problem.
