It is not a religion. Religions don't worship a "moon god." islam is a cult. Jim Jones' Peoples Temple was just such a cult, though much smaller. The place to start is by realizing what it is and informing our neighbors as to what it is.
Much easier to put a cult out of business than a religion.

Some religions don’t worship anything; Buddhism comes to mind, but UU seems to be that way, too.
And I consider Atheism a a religion - if anything it takes MORE faith to disbelieve in God that it does to believe in Him.
Then there is animism (and its more elaborate relative, Shinto) which certainly DOES have a moon god or goddess.
It is just hard to figure out how to separate Islam from First Amendment protection, esp. since the Moslems have a lot of really good lawyers.
