WFBjr would have been proud to call himself a Teapartier.
And New York TImes continues to cut staff. I guess this is the best journalism they can come up with. Can’t wait till they go belly up...what a complete crock.
What was Mitt Romney besides moderate?
Welch falls for the left wing smear that the Tea Party is racist. The left will smear the next leaders who emerge.
On Instapundit today. I think the Kenyan is brain washing America.
IF REPUBLICANS HAD DONE THIS IT WOULD BE PORTRAYED AS SINISTER: Billionaire-Funded Liberal Stealth Groups Paved Obama Win.
More than 4 million people who voted for Barack Obama in 2008 did not vote this year. But by applying new voter science, Obama nudged enough replacements in key states many who were rare or first-time voters to give him his margin of victory (leveraged even larger by the Electoral College).
Years of stealthy multimillion-dollar efforts paid off forAmericas left in the 2008 and 2012 victories by President Barack Obama. Using new voter science to get rare and first-time voters to go to the polls, the races have changedAmericas electorate those who make the countrys decisions by showing up and voting.
Aided by $5 million minimum from George Soros, plus millions more from others, at least two secretive institutions were created to enable this effort by focused research on behavioral science. Their results are made available only to liberals and their causes.
Oh, by all means let’s let the New York Times frame the conservative strategy. Then let’s invite the wolves to guard the sheep and have Bill Clinton over to babysit our teenage daughters.
The GOP always suffers when the "establishment" is in control. In the 1930's, under "establishment" leaders like Alf Landon, it became practically moribund until a conservative revival led by Ohio Senator Robert A. Taft breathed life back into the party. In the 1950's, the "establishment," then calling itself the "modern Republicans," was again riding high following Taft's death and managed to lose seats in Congress in every election until another conservative movement, headed by Barry Goldwater, once again revived the party.
Isn’t it a little ironic that David Welch shares his last name with Robert Welch...the founder of the John Birch Society?
I have my doubts that Wm. Buckley’s intellectualism could in any way penetrate the current (low) level of American Idolism that constitutes discourse. Sadly, IMO he would simply be yet another object of organized ridicule.
Funny how these stories don’t get around to saying what is so “extreme” about the Tea Party. What is it? Is it the idea of living within our means? No, they just keep repeating “extreme” until people believe it.
The “Bircher’s” were right-on. The gov’t was infiltrated with hundreds of Soviet agents- Google “venona”. Books at Amazon”Venona”.
They wanted the US out of the UN. Can anyone argue that the UN has been good for America?
To top it all off, we now have a Communist sympathizer as President and “about 70 communists in congress.”(Allen West)
The Birch Society was wrongly accused of being”racist’, “anti-Semitic’”,a modern KKK. They were NOT. There only focus was COMMUNISM. History has since proven them to be correct
Whittacker Chambers declined a partnership to start National Review with Buckley because he was an undercover spy for the Soviets that had 'unmasked' himself and revealed that Algier Hiss (FDR's Seretary of state) was a Soviet spy too.
I liked Buckley but I place him in a conservative 'light' group that includes William Kristol. I cancelled my National Review subscription when Buckley died.
BTW, The John Birch Society has been mostly correct over the years, Buckley opposed them.
The book, Witness written by Whitter Chambers is one of the best books ever.
Document this or it is not worth anyone's time to read further.
Second, has David Welch ever, ever, ever documented the extreme beliefs and actions of Barack Hussein Obama, who wants to end charity, start up a civilian defense force as powerful as our military, enact legislation by executive order, lower the sea levels and lies, lies, lies, even when he could tell the truth. This is apparently not a problem.
My prediction is that David Welch is a chair-sniffing propagandist and evil, destructive person.
Not merely horse sh*t, but execrable horse sh*t amounting to a slander both on William F. Buckley AND the Tea Party, as well.
If he were alive today, there can be little doubt that Buckley would endorse, not disparage, the Tea Party.
Clearly, the writer is an utter assh*le, and an ignorant one.
And it’s nonsense like this that is driving the NYT to irrelevance and bankruptcy.
The "extreme rhetoric" from the Tea Party is the claim that we are Taxed Enough Already - and decent people consider that an obvious fact, not an extreme position. The "untenable belief" is that federal spending can be cut, but I hope that position will be found tenable before the American economy collapses under the weight of federal debt.
William F. runs his Firing Line show up in Heaven with Elvis, Buddy Holly and Patrice Lumumba!
A Communist rag advocating for a Socialist Republican Party that gracefully loses to the Democrats. The author is what we call a “concern troll.”
