Our daughters must be getting their ideas on life from the same books!
It's not that she doesn't want to get married but she's with a guy that is just now, at 29, getting his act together. She's an over achiever and he's pretty laid back. They make a great couple but they are in different places in their careers.
And, again, I say, so what? Marriage doesn't mean you can't have your career, or whatever. It means you have decided to walk the path of life with another person. You help each other. Sometimes you have to give, sometimes the other spouse has to give; but, in the long run, it is worth it.
I often feel that these young people do everything backwards. They get a house together, have children and, then, they get married. I don't get it. Why can't they marry and make their way through the world as a married couple.
