God help us from people trying to save us from every adverse effect. Almost 100% of the power plant mechanics I know retire with severe back problems. many have had surgeries and are on a first-name basis with their chiropractor. People like you would say that it is unsafe to make electricity.

Or would you? No one cares if a blue collar worker injures himself on the job because that’s just part of the job. But, something high profile like the NFL and its players who make millions of dollars is worth pursuing as a crusade.

Everyone knows that continued helmet-to-helmet contact causes brain injuries. You don’t need to create a public relations crusade to shake down the NFL and NHL for lots of money for “studies” to know what is common sense.

Always go for the defendant with the deep pockets! That’s the new motto for this country.

Nope.I'd say that perhaps there's a change in the SOP that would prevent such problems. But if such conditions *couldn't be prevented my attitude would be "well,I guess that part of the price we must pay".That attitude,of course, would have its basis in the undeniable fact that human civilization would be devastated if electricity were to disappear.

To me this is a purely scientific question.Of course it could be about money for some...greedy lawyers, for example. But *my* only interest is "what adverse effects,if any,are found in those who've played high school, college or pro football (or baseball, hockey, etc).

Again,it's not about money for me.And how do you *know* that helmut-to-helmut contact causes brain injuries? And what type of injuries are you talking about? If it became widely known that even a couple of seasons of NFL...or college..play could cause lasting disability down the road do you think that might effect the number of players seeking an NFL career? And what about Cassius Clay? If his brain were turned over to medical science after his death what do you think they might find under the microscope?
