Exactly.
They’re both “neo-conservatives.”
While the left likes to hurl around the term “neo-con” very loosely, what they don’t know and don’t admit is that there are real neo-conservatives, and what they really are.
Neo-conservatives are left-wing American Jews who figured out in the early 70’s that their Democratic party buddies are soft on Israel and really don’t like Jews. So these red diaper Jews cuddled up to the Republican party on the subject of Israel.
This has produced strange bedfellows such as Kristol for years - Kristol is no conservative on domestic issues, and certainly not on domestic social issues. Come to think of it, neo-conservatives don’t give a rat’s ass is the US goes broke on military mis-adventures in the middle east trying to triangulate the defense of Israel.
It’s long since past time for the Republican party to eject these clowns and send them packing and get down to what conservatives need to address in the US today - cutting the federal budget, defending the value of the dollar, getting fiscal and monetary policies under control.
If Jews want to defend Israel, then they can pony up the money to do it themselves. It isn’t the problem of the US taxpayer.
You forgot a rather important one:
WE MAKE THINGS IN AMERICA.
I'm not a Jew, (or a Fundamentalist Christian for that matter looking for Armageddon) but I'll gladly pony up my money to defend Israel. They are the only outpost of civilization in that hell hole of a region, and I think it is important to all people who love civilization they they survive.
In a sense, Israel today is on the front line between civilization and barbarism.
Think about it.
