Yes there are obstacles to US production.

Perhaps the discussion might usefully center on how those obstacles can be removed.

And likewise obstacles introduced to importing from countries in which our productive assets have been moved, to bring them back here.

What we are doing now, is losing steadily.

That is what I am saying.

That discussion was had this last election and the conservative argument lost with the uneducated. What now needs to be done, is accelerate the effects of the choice that the people made. This is the only way some people will learn. They are unable to reason and can only learn the hard way.

As far as putting up obstacles to importing, that is a leftist idea. We do not need government to act in the private sector at all. Americans are some of the most productive in the world when left to compete freely. Asking the government to act to level a playing field that they are making unlevel is not logical.

The Republicans should stop playing the Democrat's game. Their plan will not work and will destroy our country. We should stand fast on the following:
Cut income tax to 15%
Abolish Corporate income taxes
Abolish capital gains taxes, (they are mostly inflation gains anyway.)
Regulations should be returned to those existing in 1980
Levy an equalization tax on imports to offset the market costs placed by our gov.
