Trust but verify. Repeatedly verify. And always have an action plan to get your son out. Bad schools ruin people for life. You cannot be too paranoid on his behalf.
He is thriving and I couldn’t be happier. My daughter is at a big lib school and also thriving....and trying to talk sense into everyone she meets. We raised her right! But we have taught her for years how to see through subtle and not so subtle bias. I wish she could attend CCU but they do not have the major she needs
